This board will get the heavier surfers (185lbs.+) comfortable with riding a shortboard. For lighter surfers, the Peter Mel Machine will give you extra forgiveness in good conditions. The board drives down the line and easily tucks into the face of the wave.
The bottom is a shallow entry, single concave that ends flat at the tail. The shallow concave gives the board a nice stable feel and keeps it stable in bigger, faster conditions. The Peter Mel Machine has a slight bump from body to the tail, which allows for a wider deck while narrowing the tail. This tail allows for easy turning and cutbacks. The nose is slightly fuller with a small rocker. This design adds to the stability of the board and for larger surfers, adds some buoyancy.
Rails. This board has rounded rails, close to 50/50 with very soft edges. Again this plays to the stability factor. In the case of the larger surfer, this helps to prevent driving the rails too deep into wave on sharp turns.
